FOUNDATION
The University is one of the largest higher educational establishments of Chernivtsi. It has recently celebrated the 65th anniversary of its foundation. It is a modern multisectoral educational institution of the IV accreditation level, included into the general register of the WHO, Magna Charta Universitatum (Bologna, Italy), the Association of the Carpathian Region Universities that provides qualified training according to the grade system of education.

LOCATION
Bukovinian State Medical University is a modern multi-structural educational institution of the 4th accreditation level, founded in 1944. The University is located in the magnificent core of Chernivtsi-city. This beautiful city with inimitable architecture, museums, parks and public gardens, summer cafes attracts tourists and students from all over the country and abroad. People come to admire the past and the present blend so harmoniously together in our city established in 1408. Chernivtsi-city is quiet, inexpensive and very comfortable for living place where every 5th person is a student from one of its numerous educational institutions.

STUDENTS AND GRADUATES
Over the years of its existence the University has trained about 25 000 specialists including the following specialties: “General Medicine” – 19141, “Pediatrics” – 469, “Medical Psychology” – 202, “Stomatology” – 200, “Clinical Pharmacy” – 392, “Pharmacy” – 41, as well as about 900 Bachelors.

ACADEMIC AND RESEARCH STAFF
Presently 50 Professors and more than 280 Assistant Professors (PhD) work at 36 Departments of the University. Among them, there are Members of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, numerous Honored Science and Education Workers, Full Members of New York Academy of Medical Sciences. The researches of the University have attained considerable achievements in the fields of cardiology, traumatology and orthopedics, gastroenterology, pediatrics, kidney physiology and pathology. More than 100 of faculties’ staff have gone to countries of Asia, Africa and Central America at different times and worked in various higher medical institutions; they have a good command of foreign languages and rich experience working with students from abroad.

MATERIAL-TECHNICAL BASE
The material-technical base of the University is located in 22 buildings, and municipal and regional medical establishments are used for Clinical Departments. Today Bukovinian State Medical University as a high medical school with great experience in teaching medicine do to the State License for training international students in undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
