Ternopil State Medical University ranks 3rd among the higher medical schools of the 4rdaccreditation level in Ukraine according to the rating list of the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine. In the latest rating list of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine I.Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University.
LOCATION
Ternopil (Ternopol in Russian) is a large cite in Western part of Ukraine located on the bank of Sirets River. The city Ternopil was founded in 1540 as Polish military fortress and a castle. Ternopil is situated within a 130 km distance from Lviv. The population of Ternopil is around 222,000 people.
Ternopil is one of the industrial centers in Ukraine. Light industry, machine engineering and metalworking are the leading industries in Ternopil.
There are a lot of ancient architectural monuments in Ternopil. Among the most famous are the Old Castle, the Church of Natality, the Dominucan Polish Roman Catholic Church and the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross.

There are almost 600 international students from 35 countries of the world study at the University. Languages of instruction: Ukrainian, English, Russian. Agreements of cooperation have been signed with several Universities from 7 countries of the world. 12 years’ experience of teaching medicine in English.
UNIVERSITY CAMPUS
The Campus of I.Ya. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University is the structural unit of the medical university that includes the complex of the hostels №1, 2, 3, 4 with adjacent territories. The Campus serves as the accommodation for Ukrainian and Foreign Students as well as interns, masters, resident doctor, postgraduate students, students of the preparatory department and the postgraduate training faculty.
The Campus Administration coordinates the interaction between the university administrative-economic part, student government, Vice-Rector for National Patriotic and Educational Work, the Curator Council, group curators regarding the issues of leisure, educational, cultural, sports and recreation management in the Campus. The Campus Staff includes a director, his deputy, three inspectors.
The Campus Administration coordinates educational, national, patriotic, public cultural and sports and recreational activities within the campus. It also controls the organization of life of residents to follow safety rules and fire safety.
Foreign Students live in the hostel; most of them come from India, Malaysia, Syria, Pakistan, Nigeria, Ghana, Poland and other countries.
There are 508 bed places in the hostel. The hostel includes 206 rooms. Every floor has two wings each including 3 accommodation blocks, a side room, a kitchen and a home room.
Every block consists of two bed and three bed rooms, a toilet and a shower room
Most rooms of the hostel are connected to the Internet.
There are a hostel warden’s office, hostel staff office, spacious lobby and 2 libraries.
There is a first aid unit on the ground floor of the university hostel.
There are 30 computers connected to the Internet. The student cafeteria functions in the hostel.
There are a spacious gym with modern pieces of gym equipment and laundry in the basement.
The campus administration office is situated on the ground floor of the hostel.
